Top 10 Reasons To Join First UPC of Center In 2011

Reason #1: It’s a command to be in church.

As we see in Hebrew 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner
of some is: but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
.

Going to church (assembling together) is not an option but a command to be obeyed.
You can't be obedient while sitting at home during church.

Reason #2: Faithful attendance ensures a good testimony and unfaithful
attendance affects others negatively.

Your life speaks louder than words. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Don't pray that
your kids will live for God and be faithful adults if you choose other things over church - why
would our kids do something different when they have seen our attendance so irregular
and inconsistent?

Reason #3: We can be in His special presence.

The Lord promised to be with us when we assemble. When you are not in church you
miss out on the Lord's special presence. We know He has promised to be there so
why would we not choose to meet Him there?  Matt 18:20 For where two or three are
gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
KJV

Reason #4: To be truly submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

You cannot be submitted to the Lord's will and fully obedient to Him if you are not a faithful member of a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church.

Reason #5: Christ loves His Bride, the Church and so should we.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Jesus LOVES the church. He loves it so much that He gave Himself for the church. If Jesus loves the church that much, there should be no reason for us not to want to be there.

Reason #6: Church is God's center for discipline and direction.

We all need direction in our lives from the Lord and church is the place that God has set up for us to receive both direction and correction.

Reason #7: Your church NEEDS you.

We (local members) are a part of each other and we love each other and need each other.  1 Corinthians 12:26 says And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  When you miss church you discourage other members.  It only took 10 men to discourage the entire population of Israel and prevent them from entering into the promised land.  Just like our own body-every member has a purpose even if we are not sure of what it is.  There are many parts of our body that we can live without but anytime something is removed or not functioning, our lives are not as good. As a member of a local Apostolic church, we are members of that body of believers.  When one member suffers, the whole body suffers as well.

Reason #8: Church is the safest place you can be.

When you are not in church it is very easy to be deceived. The Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church is the pillar and ground of the truth.  Matt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  KJV

Reason #9: Church is God's designated vehicle of service.

Romans 12:4-8 For as we have many member in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another, differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Reason #10: JESUS IS COMING BACK!!

Imagine sitting in a boat out on a peaceful lake with your fishing pole in hand just relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze and the fresh Sunday morning air when our Savior Jesus Christ arrives arrives.  How will you explain THEN why you are not in church? When you consistently choose to do other things than attend church then you are actually serving creation rather than the creator.  You have created an idol in your life that you are bowing before.  An idol is anything that replaces our love and commitment to Christ.  Relationships, jobs, pleasures, hobbies, etc., can become idols in our lives.  You may still be able to say that Jesus Christ is your Savior but you can no longer declare that He is the LORD OF YOUR LIFE!

THE UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH

The United Pentecostal Church International is one of the fastest growing religious groups of modern times. It has grown from a few hundred to many thousands of pastors, evangelists, missionaries and teachers around the world who are giving their lives to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The growth of the local church groups had its beginning with a few score in the early 1900s. This number increased to many, many thousands in over one hundred nations.

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It gives a true history of the creation of heaven, earth and humanity. It contains correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth and the destiny of humanity. It is true and authoritative, and it teaches us how to be saved and how to live a godly life.

PLAN OF SALVATION

Our salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Through the blood of Christ we receive deliverance from all sin and unrighteousness. The salvation experience consists of repentance of sin, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and being baptized with the Holy Spirit, after which the believer is to live a holy life. ( Acts 2:36 - 41)

WATER BAPTISM

Water Baptism is a necessary part of New Testament salvation. It should be administered by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as consistently taught in the Bible. None of the apostles or other followers of Jesus used any other mode or formula. (See Acts 2:36 - 41; 8:16; 19:5)

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST

The spiritual baptism is for all believers today, and the Bible describes it as the spiritual birth. The prophet Joel proclaimed the universal availability of this experience (Acts 2:16 - 18), and so did the apostle Peter: “The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” (Acts 2:39). The evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is speaking in other tongues (other languages) as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4).

DIVINE HEALING

God has manifested Himself to mankind through the ages by miraculous healings. The apostles prayed for the sick as prophesied by Jesus in Mark 16:18: “They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” We are promised divine healing in James 5:14 - 15:  “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up.” In modern times, the practice of praying for the sick has become widespread.

We urge you to look into these scriptural truths and to attend the United Pentecostal Church in your area.
